What is event planning?
The question actually breaks down into two questions. (1) Types
of event planned. (2) What is event
planning?
First, what kinds of events are we talking about? They include:- CELEBRATIONS - fairs, parades, weddings, reuions, birthdays, anniversaries, bar/bat mitvahs, first communions, sweet sixteen’s, block parties
- EDUCATIONS - conference, convetions, meetings. graduations
- PROMOTIONS - product launches, political rallies, fashion shows, convetions
- COMMERATIONS - memorials, civic events
The above list is not an exhaustive one, but as the examples
illustrate, special events may be business related, purely social, or somewhere in between. Now we move to the second what is question: What is event planning? Planners of an event may handle any or all the following related to that event:- Conduct reseach
- Create an event design
- Find a venue
- Arrange for food, decor, and entertainment
- Plan transportation to and from the event
- Send invitations to attendees
- Arrange any necessary accommodations for attendees
- Coordinate the activities of event personnel
- Hire employees to work for the event
- Supervise at the site
- Conduct evaluation of the event
How many of these activities an event planner engages in will depend
on the size and type of a particular event, which will in turn, depend
on the specialization of the planner.- add to basket 0 comments
