Sweet 16

My daughter wanted a “grown up” birthday for her sweet 16 so some friends and I got together and decided to give her a “Night Club” party. We transformed my husbands shop (large space) into B16 Night Club. We covered the walls in black plastic sheeting and made a huge day-glo banner with the name of the club in the back. We placed black lights around the walls in specific areas, hung decor and a disco ball, set up a “bar” area and made up personalized drinks (non-alcoholic of course). For example, we used my daughter and her best friends names in the drink titles; The Britanny Bomber, The Lindsey-lada, etc… The drinks were various fruit juices and soda or frozen smoothies.
We created an entrance by setting up two netted tents back to back and filled them with white christmas lights inside the nettng. This is where we put the table with the food.
We also hired a DJ to play and he had a light show set up. By doing it all ourselves we spent about $300 and $200 was for the DJ. We also had several adult men wear black Tshirts that we printed “Bouncer” on the back of. (Easy way to keep the party chaperoned.)
This was 2 years ago and I still have people asking me to plan thier 16th birthday because they either were there or heard about it. Needless to say, the kids loved it.-
