   • Our Sacramento Mountain VFW Post 11999, Cloudcroft, NM, is planning a Welcome Home Celebration for out adopted Army National Guard unit "Delta Company 2/200th Infantry" who will be coming home from Iraq at the beginning of March, 2008. There will be a parade on March 8, 2008, in Las Cruces, NM, for the combined C & D 2/200 INF, but D Co. has not had their own recognition. We have a very short window in which to get this celebration planned. We are working with the Lieutenant and Readiness NCO here in the states and we have decided upon March 29, 2008, as the date for this event. March 30, 2008, will be the annual Bataan Death March at White Sands Missile Range, NM, so publicity for our Welcome Home Celebration combined with the Death March will bring in many people to the city of Alamogordo, NM. There were 25 soldiers who deployed to Iraq.  So at this event we are looking at having between 25 to 70 soldiers plus their wives and children, and we expect to have between 250-300 people total at the event. We want to have a burger and hot dog fry and potatoe/macaroni salad, baked beans, sodas - a bar-b-que type thing.  The music is being provided by a local band - The Good News Band.
