Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry

Not Just a Pretty Face, The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry by Stacy Malkan, will inform you about the dangers we face today with toxic chemicals. Although primarily about the skin care and beauty industry, she even mentions toys and everyday things in our households that can make us sick.
One of the many disturbing things mentioned in this book is about all the chemicals found in the blood of newborn babies, and in breast milk! This news can be devastating to women who think there is nothing safer than a mother’s milk.
The average woman is exposed to over 100 chemicals before ever leaving home in the morning. This includes everything from toothpaste, skin care, deodorant, etc.
It really makes you wonder why cosmetic companies that market themselves as “beauty” and feeling “great” think nothing of adding hazardous chemicals to their products, especially when safer alternatives are available! Not only safer…. but more effective!
This book is a must read for everyone concerned about their health. Stacy Malkan appeared at the Glimpse Skin Care convention in Novemeber 2008, signed her book and spoke with Beverley Hollister.
