Baby Shower for my sister-in-law

   • I’m finding that I need to reel myself in a little bit.  I have all of these ideas I want to use, and since I’m the one throwing the party, I can do ANYTHING I want, but I’ve probably spent all I need to spend at this point!!  Right up until the day of the party, I’m thinking of new ideas that would be fun.  Truth is, the party is already jam-packed, and I have spent what I had originally planned.  That seems to be the hardest part for me right now, not overdoing it.  Not only do I want everything to be amazing because I would love to have some guests want to hire me, it’s for my nephew and sister-in-law whom I love!!  Only the best!! 

     One thing I really hate is the money you have to spend on extras, like decorations.  That money technically would be better off spent towards a gift for the baby.  The way I justify that in my head is that all of the extra stuff is a special feeling and memory for the mommy.  Plus, fun for me, and great party practice!!  I’ll have to write more the closer the party gets.

     It went really, relly great!!  The shower was a hit.  Everything ran on schedule, and everyone seemed to enjoy the entire event.  I had enough activities to fill an extra hour, but everyone seemed ready to leave after cake, so we wound it down.  Next time, I could get away with fewer things for everyone to do and it would still be a fun time.  Still, better to have plenty of cheap, easy back-up time fillers just in case.  And bonus, a lot of the things I purchased for the party can be reused another time, so I will get to save money in the long run.  I managed to stay on budget.  Big relief.  It’s a good thing I had someone else handle the food.  That not only saved me money, but was the thing I needed to skip doing myself to stay on schedule and not stress out before it started.  I finally feel like I have got the hang of this party-throwing completely and I am perfectly confident that this is a good career choice for me!!
