   • How To Throw A Pittsburgh Steelers Party

     While waiting for Steelers tickets a good way to raise the excitement level is throwing a party.

     The best start for a themed party is the basics. One of the most basic decisions after the main theme is the color palette. The Pittsburgh Steelers team colors are black and gold and provide the first choice for colors. The team logo uses black font and the colors yellow, red and blue as three hypocycloids (shapes similar to diamonds). This could provide an alternate color scheme for a Steelers themed party.

     Next a location needs to be established. Most professional football teams in the United States have outdoor football stadiums. To stay true to the sport an outdoor party would be the most appropriate. It may include a tented area for shelter in some weather conditions. It may also include an area to play catch or touch football. If the party needs to be indoors a large room or set of rooms would be best. If there can be a large screen television or projector for playing footage from various games the mood will be enhanced.

     When it comes to food selection there are two routes available. The first is the classic tradition of tailgating. This fits best with an outdoor location. One or more grills can be used to barbeque hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, and ribs with chips on the side. A couple coolers with cans and glass bottles of beer in ice provide refreshment. Portable chairs which fold small enough to be carried in bags are excellent seating. A truck can be backed up to the area as a table for authenticity. Portable televisions playing some type of football coverage completes the mealtime setting.

     The second choice feels more like the stadium. The primary food choices will include hot dogs, popcorn, and roasted peanuts. Plastic cups of beer from a keg, and plastic bottles of beer are the main beverages. Nachos with cheese may also be available. Seating should be more like plastic folding chairs. A couple rows set up in front of the biggest screen available lend a stadium feel to the meal.

     A party away from the stadium is no substitute for heading to the game and grabbing a cup of beer on the way to a seat. In a pinch a party done properly can be just the thing to pass time until Steelers tickets are available.
