All About Favor Ideas
-
Party favors can often be the hit of the party. They don’t have to be the usual dull, boring, and invisible. There are plenty of party favor ideas which are fun, whimsical, and humorous.
Favor ideas for an Over the Hill party can be very humorous, as is the party theme itself. One could go with little care package-type favors for the guests. These could include tiny rubber bands (the type made for braces) to signify putting a rubber band on one’s finger to help remember things, fake coupons for adult diapers or joint cream, and medical pill organizers. To top it off, place bowls of prunes, instead of peanuts and pretzels, on the guest’s tables.
For those events held during the Christmas season, party favor ideas can be a lot of fun to make. Pretzels or cookies dipped in chocolate and coated with colorful Christmas sprinkles and wrapped in red or green plastic wrap can make for a festive atmosphere. Additional ideas include ornaments, either personalized or whimsical. Personalized ornaments can be complete with a picture, such as an engagement picture, and the date of the party or event. Whimsical-type ornaments could include hearts made out of candy canes, Christmas mice made from chocolate kisses, or mittens filled with special treats. Other ideas with a winter theme include cone-shaped hot cocoa mix, reindeer food, or cookie in a jar mixes. Small children would enjoy getting a special key to lay out for Santa which would enable him to get inside the house on Christmas Eve in the event that a chimney isn’t available.
Birthday party favor ideas often go with the theme of the party. Homemade picture frames are great ideas for young children as well as teenagers. Once the whole group has arrived, get them all together for a group picture. Before they leave, be sure to put a copy of the group picture in the frame. Or, take an individual picture of each child with the guest of honor and place that picture in the frame. This can easily be done with the availability of home picture printing.
For occasions such as graduations, retirement parties, and anniversary parties, personalized candy bars are fun favor ideas. The candy bars can have pictures of the graduating class, the guest of honor, or just a sentiment such as Happy Valentine’s Day. This is also a great idea for a wedding in which miniature candy bars can be personalized with pictures of the bride and groom growing up through the years.
