• Seven Tips for Hosting a Halloween Party that Gets You Laid

    • You read that right. Trick or Treat is for kids and giving out candy at the door is for Mom’s. But the real excitement is in hosting a party where you can express your inner vixen, outer geek or just about anything you want. Calling all singles! Halloween is a time for dressing sexy, and hosting the coolest Halloween party is a sure way to get a little action on one of the most fun nights of the year! And don’t say that you didn’t think about it. There is a reason they make sexy Halloween costumes right?

Where do you start? Hosting a Halloween party is actually fairly easy when you consider that the date and the theme are already decided. That’s half the work! But having a party that isn’t lame is important and requires a little bit of pre-planning and strategy, particularly if you want it to have some sizzle for singles.

1. Decorations

They don’t have to be expensive to be amazing and you can mix and match low budget with more detailed props and decorations to create a great effect. Visit your local thrift store and pick up some pants and shirts. Stuff them with newspaper to create “bodies” to protrude legs from under furnishings and cupboards.

Find some old white sheets and cut them into strips to give the illusion of spider webs hanging down (and face level to obscure vision and create a tunnel effect in hallways). Cardboard props can be used on windows and bathrooms to increase the creepy factor. Don’t forget a fog machine or two to make that ghostly mist that puts everyone in the party mood. Create the atmosphere for fun.

2. Food and Drink

If your guests are going to be drinking then you need to provide some food and non-alcoholic beverages (for the designated drivers mostly). Nothing is a bigger buzz kill than a zombie with the munchies, so select a variety of snacks that will keep the party going including cookies, pizza, chips or caramel corn. You can even create healthy snacks that are creepy. Wash and put separated grapes into a bowl labeled “eyeballs” or make veggies and dip with some well placed tentacles in the dip. Your guests will appreciate the thought you put into creating the entertainment and snacks which will win you some extra points with the opposite sex.

Food is the fastest way to a man or a woman’s heart (at least for one night). Use colors like red and dark grape to create black, and get creative with your beverage ice as well. It’s the little touches that make any party feel cool.

3. The Pre-Scout

If you are ready to get your game on, make sure you spot your target and introduce yourself. Whether you know the person well or whether you have just met them, an introduction is important as it establishes your interest at the beginning of the party. Don’t count on him or her knowing what is on your mind. Give them a hint instead.

If you are really serious about having a great Halloween party and getting some one on one time with your favorite person then consider inviting them over to help with the party set up. It’s fun to share the preparation and the pre-party hype.

4. Do Play Games With Each Other

The most important thing is to break down the anxiety of nervous guests. You want people to relax and have fun at your party. Create games that make people talk to each other or have some kind of physical contact. Competition is also a good way to get people to loosen up, so think about creating teams and compete for prizes or points.

Forget bobbing for apples (that’s gross) and opt for things like candy eating contests or face painting. Have guests arrive early so that they can do each other’s make up for the party. It’s a great way to get people arriving earlier and talking before the party even starts, and think about cool prizes from Funslurp unique gifts so that everyone goes home with something fun.

5. Create Snuggle Zones

At a party, people want to have the option to wander off for some face time. While you definitely don’t want them in your bedroom, you can still encourage “hook-ups” in a fun way. Sometimes all people need is a little privacy to get some action. Label rooms like an office, or a closet as “Designated Kissing Zone” with a custom sign. Think that will offend people? It won’t. They’ll love it.

If the weather is warmer, take out the summer loungers and put them in the back yard. Consider lighting the fire pit to create some addition ambience for couples who want to drift out the back door for some lip locking.

6. Happy Hour

Keep the party moving after midnight. One of the mistakes many hosts make is slowing the music down after midnight. That’s a great way to put everyone to sleep and end the party right there. Keep your guests feeling lively and entertained and they’ll keep the party going late, which is what you want if your intention is to have a sleepover.

7. The Slam-Dunk

You know those ‘snuggle zones’ you created for your guests to enjoy? They make a great place to make some extra time with the object of your affection. Get him or her somewhere private and make your move. YOLO right? Just make sure you keep it safe and fun for both of you.

Remember that your costume also has much to do with your success and failure with the opposite sex. Want girls to like you? Avoid a plush costume that obscures your face and makes you sweat. Sticky is never cool but ladies if you want some inspiration, check out Kim Kardashian’s previous costumes. She’s a sexy woman who loves Halloween. Men? Try to avoid the costumes that only you think are funny like these “25 Sexy Halloween Costumes for Men That Should Not Exist”.
