• 8 lovely food ideas to rock your kids’ party

    • It is difficult to be the apple of eyes of your tiny tots. The way through to their hearts is through their taste buds. If you are about to throw a kids’ party in some time, here are some ideas worth considering.

Potato Frittata

How about serving your kids with some clown-shaped face frittata? Made from eggs and potatoes, this dish can help you feed 4 kids at a time. Preparing potato frittata takes hardly 20 minutes and you can even fill it up with tomatoes, mushrooms, red cheese, red and green pepper to make it look more enticing to the kids.

Snake Sandwiches

How about taking your kids off the ground with colourful snake-shaped sandwiches? All you need is about 20 minutes and some white bread slices, peanut butter, cream cheese, strawberry jam with some carrots, snipped chives & brown bread with sliced cucumber. Sandwiches are cut with a cookie cutter and showcased in a wave-like structure that resembles a snake. You can use cucumber and ham to give an amazing touch to the snake sandwich.

Cucumber Boats

If you are looking out for a way to encourage kids to eat veggies while having fun at the same time, cucumber boats are the perfect bet! Top these boats with couscous and use cocktail sticks to decorate the serving. It will take you about 45 minutes to prepare this. Some of the ingredients you will require include olive oil, cherry tomatoes, lemon juice, hot vegetable stock, raisins, apricots and spring onions.

Chocolate & Marshmallow Cake

Prepare a chocolate cake topped with marshmallows to woo kids. You will need about 110 minutes to prepare this delicious cake. Some of the ingredients to be bought include dark chocolate, caster sugar, plain flour, large eggs, double cream and ground almonds.

Fairy Clouds

Imagine the expression on the faces of kids when they see pink-colored fairy clouds prepared with chocolate crackles & coconut ice. Just some marshmallows, cachous, rice bubbles and sprinkles to surprise your little darlings! All these are mixed into pink icing sugar, copha mix and coconut. Next, set these in patty cases and the result is more than just awesome! A must-have for girls’ party….

Chocolate Animals

Prepare yummy cereal, chocolate animals and top these with white chocolate buttons to make the little hearts skip with joy. You can either have tortoise or penguin shaped chocolates with blueberries, melted milk chocolate or candied orange slices. You will also require some butter or margarine including some marshmallows for decoration.

Starfish Fairy Bread

You will need about 30 minutes to prepare this dish. Take a 9 cm star cutter to cut the bread into star shapes. Use softened butter and apply it on each side of the bread. Use sultanas to form eyes on these star-shaped breads. Go for color sprinkles to decorate the bread. Perfect way to party on Sunday-afternoon, ain’t it!

Lemon Square Cakes

Are you lost at thinking what to prepare for the next kids’ party? Well, lemon square cakes are the answer. These citrusy little cakes can make kids happy like never before. It takes about 45 minutes to prepare these tiny cakes. Get some unsalted butter, milk, eggs, caster sugar, sultanas, lemons, self-raising flour, lemon curd and baking powder. Frosting will require icing sugar, vanilla extract, pink food color, a packet of sweets and some mascarpone.

Organizing kids’ parties can be real fun when you have such wonderful food ideas. A bit of patience combined with creativity can make your kid’s birthday party truly awesome. Try these out and see those kids go crazy over your recipe!
