    • Christmas Cookie Party

    • By: Ginger of Savannah, GA

Christmas cookie decorating party! We do this party every year inviting all of our daughter's friends. The party begins in the kitchen where two toddler banquet tables are set up with red table cloths and Christmas wrapping paper lined down the middle to protect the table cloth plus it adds a lot and looks fun. Set at each child's place at the table is a red Soho plate with a Large gingerbread cookie to decorate. I fill pastry bags I ordered from Martha Stewarts catalog with royal icing of red, green and white. I place them tip down in Soho cups lined with a wet paper towel so the icing tip will not dry out. On the table I fill small baking tins that you can get at any grocery with M&M;'s, colored sugar, red hots, raisins, etc to use to decorate. After the kids finish I place the cookies in clear plastic wrap, unless of course they eat them first! The second part of the party moves into the living room by the Christmas tree where we have a special visitor waiting for them. We have Mrs. Santa ( a librarian from a nearby library, dressed as Mrs. Santa of course) to read them Twas The Night Before Christmas. The children are also asked to bring a letter for Santa to give to her. You should see the kids faces, it's so cute! To end the party we all board a red trolley wearing Santa hats with their names painted on them (from the $1 store, get them early though) we all circle the neighborhood singing Christmas carols, its so much fun and will put you in the Christmas spirit for sure!!! Have fun and Happy Holidays!!!
