    • Halloween Just 4 Kids

    • My childhood was filled with Halloween parties that were put together by my friends' parents and my own. The most memorable party was one with my best friend Tamera when I was in third grade. Her mother dressed up as a clown, and made balloon animals.

We also got to make "scary" hands with popcorn, rubber gloves, and candy corns as finger nails. A bowl full of gummy spiders, spaghetti with eyeballs, and fizzy green drinks added even more Halloween ambiance.

Crafts consisted of spray painted macaroni necklaces, cardboard glitter masks, and pumpkin carving.

For fun, we played hide and go seek in the dark in our Halloween costumes. What kid doesn't love hide and go seek?

After everyone was settled down, we would carve pumpkins and have pumpkin gut fighting contest in the back yard. As kids, playing in pumpkin guts was the best!

We would have these Halloween parties opposed to going trick or treating. With all the warnings we hear every year on the news about Halloween candy poisoned by givers, it seemed the safest alternative. I remember events like this as being more memorable than knocking on strangers doors and asking them for candy. party
