School Auction Fund Raiser
Serving as the co-chair and technology chair of our elementary school and pre-school, thought I would use this to highlight what has worked well:
1. the Live Auction typically accounts for the big ticket items and a good auctioneer and focusing the crowds attention is the most important part of the auction
2. My favorite auction systems are AuctionPay and Ready Set Auction. AuctionPay allows for offline use so I have favored that.
3. Start early (6 months in advance) to secure a good spot and to be first in line to the stores and companies you ask for donations - in a city like Chicago these folks can get dozens of requests and just can’t accommodate everyone.
4. Most people try to leave at the same time so check out is usually tough - especially if you have a lot of physical items - set up 2 check out areas - one to pay and one to pick up items.
