A Chocolate-Themed Party
-
Invitations: Make it as formal or informal as it best suits you! Send out formal, printed invitations or go informal with an Evite to potential partygoers. If you are crafty, create your own chocolate-themed invitations. There are instructions online on how you might use real chocolate to create your invitations (you can’t send them via mail though, they’ll melt!).
Attire: Again, it depends on how formal or informal you would like the party to be. For something more formal, brown or black cocktail attire. For more informal, partygoers can wear brown or a chocolate-themed shirt. Even more informal? Pajamas! Note: Because you’ll be eating a lot of chocolate, you may want to insist your guests wear elastic!
Food/Beverage: Here is a list of the food and beverages I’ll be serving at my own chocolate-themed party.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Brownies
Chocolate Pudding (served in drinking glass)
Various Chocolate Candies
Chocolate Fondue with fresh fruits, marshmallows, spongy cake
Chocolate Ice Cream
Chocolate Cheesecake
Chocolate Cupcakes
Chocolate Liqueur (Godiva)
Hot Chocolate
Creme de Menthe (for a more “grown-up” hot chocolate)
Chocolate Martinis (various recipes can be found online)
Milk (what goes better with chocolate?)
Water (to cleanse the palatte)Favors: In keeping with the theme, I’m using a dark brown paper bag filled with chocolate googies: personlized candy bar, I LOVE CHOCOLATE button, chocolate-flavored lip gloss, chocolate squares in various flavors. In addition, I am also making personalized wine charm for the girls and personalized appetizer plates to use for the evening. The wine charms are orange and brown, keeping with the color scheme of the party. The appetizer plates are square plates from Wal-mart with a quote about love and chocolate on them.
Decorations: Fill over-sized drinking glasses with candies in brown and orange colors, serve beverages/food in drinking glasses, napkins and paper goods in orange/brown or chocolate patterns, cylinder-shaped, glass vases filled with coffee beans and topped with orange flowers, chocolate-scented candles
