Cake Pops
Serves: 0 | Prep time: minutes
Ingredients
- Preferred cake mix
- Frosting
- Lollipop sticks
- Candy melts
- Sprinkles
- Colored icing tubes
- Styrofoam to stand them up in
Directions
Prepare cake according to directions on the box. Allow to cool completely. Crumble entire cake into a bowl and stir in frosting in small increments until desired, clingy consistence is met.
Scoop the mixture and roll it into balls, placing on prepared cookie sheet. Refrigerate for several hours, until firm.
Just prior to removing the balls from the refrigerator, begin to prepare the chocolate. Place wafers into a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each 30-second increment. (You can also melt the chocolate on a double boiler.)
Once thoroughly melted, dip the lollipop sticks in the melted chocolate (only as deep as the cake balls) before inserting them half-to-three-quarters the way in to each cake ball. Coat your newly-sticked cake pops into the chocolate, rotating to ensure even coverage. Stand the dipped pops into Styrofoam and allow to harden and decorate.
