LeeAnn's Party in Mexico

This is a very overdue post considering the party was a while ago and LeeAnn is coming home in a couple weeks. It feels like it was just yesterday. I’m very excited to see her again.
Before we left for Mexico, I went to Party City and bought a lot of decorations. Red, white, and blue streamers, plates, forks, cups, balloons, straws, pinwheels, lightup lei’s, light up lanterns and a big blow up Uncle Sam that lit up and had a sign with the words “God Bless America”. My mom brought a red, white, and blue cake that read “We Love You LeeAnn” and a heartfelt card that everyone signed.
The day of the party, we had a relaxing day of deep sea fishing. After fishing we purchased fresh fish (the fish we caught were tiny) and shrimp for the evenings dinner. While everyone cleaned up, a few of us blew up balloons and decorated. It was gorgeous. We turned on the tunes and everyone mingled and started to cook and drink.
After dinner, we brought out the cake and LeeAnn’s dad presented her with the card that everyone had signed. She was very touched by everyone’s contribution.
It was a great night in Mexico and LeeAnn felt special. Mission accomplished.

I was touched by this post and your party. My sister was deployed to the Middle East, and I was not able to attend her going away party. I know how you must have felt, but I am sure the event made everyone feel better at least for a little while.
It’s hard for a family to go through a loved one being deployed overseas, but when everyone works to get through it together, family and friends make it all a little bit easier to deal with.
